Autumn Fest brings Fall fun to Patrick Ranch Museum

DURHAM, Calif. — Halloween is just three weeks away, and for those not yet feeling the fall spirit, the Patrick Ranch Museum’s Autumn Fest might be the perfect remedy. The North State favorite offers a full lineup of seasonal fun for all ages, from pumpkin picking to hay bale mazes — all set against the backdrop of the region’s rich agricultural history.“Well, the big thing about Autumn Fest is that we have a huge field of pumpkins out here,” said Sue Levi, a board member with the Patrick Ranch Museum. “Families can come out and run around and pick their own pumpkins, and the kids get really tired by the end of the day.”But pumpkins are just part of the charm. The museum, home to the Vintage Iron Tractor Club, Branch 136, features an impressive collection of antique tractors. There’s even a pink tractor offering rides in exchange for donations benefiting breast cancer awareness.Guests can also explore the hay bale maze, try their hand at pumpkin chucking, or tour the historic Glenwood Farmhouse — a crowd favorite among returning visitors.“It is happy,” Levi said. “This is what we’re about here at Patrick Ranch — giving families the chance to come out in a farm atmosphere, and kids can experience playing outside.”A suggested donation of $6 for adults and $3 for children helps support the museum’s programs and upkeep.Autumn Fest runs every Saturday and Sunday through October from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Patrick Ranch Museum, located on the Midway between Chico and Durham.
